Is hair removal with Soprano ICE Platinum really painless?

Is laser hair removal with the Soprano Ice Platinum Safe?
Absolutely. Soprano ICE’s SHR method has been proven in multiple clinical studies as the safest method of laser hair removal for all skin types. With SHR, hair follicles are damaged not by a single pulse of high energy which can injure the skin, but by repetitive short energy pulses. These pulses produce heat build-up which gradually raises the temperature of the dermis to the level needed for preventing hair growth, while minimizing the risk of burns.
How many sessions will I need?
A typical course of hair removal treatments involves between 6 and 10 sessions . The number of sessions can depend on the area being treated and also the fact that hair grows slower on the body than the face.
Since the laser treatment is effective in the active hair growth phase, the client has to come several times in order to expose all the hair to the laser. Approximately 15-25% of hair is reduced after each treatment, as this is the estimated amount of hair that is in the active-hair growth phase. Therefore, 6-12 sessions are required in average in order to permanently remove the hair from the treated area. However, depending on hair density and colour, as well as skin colour, more treatments might be required to get rid off all the hair.
Small areas are done in 4-6 week intervals. Eg; Face,Bikini and Underarms.
Larger areas are 6-8 week intervals. Eg; Legs, Chest and Back.
What must I consider during, before and after treatments?
In order to gain optimal results and minimise any risks, you should avoid putting any creams such as lotions or sun creams on the area that is to be treated. Furthermore it is of utmost importance that you shave the night or morning before the treatment. There has to be no hair on the surface of the skin, otherwise, that hair will absorb some of the laser energy, and that is what might cause pain. The better the client is shaved, the more comfortable the procedure will be. After the procedure you should avoid direct sun exposure for 3 days as well as strong touch on the treated area. It is recommended that you wear lose clothing in order not to cause irritations of the treated skin. The treated area should not be exposed to warm or hot water for several hours, and washing the area should be done with a mild body wash. In few cases one might experience minor redness and swelling after treatment. Applying a cool compress can help reduce your discomfort.
Is hair removal with Soprano ICE Platinum safe for dark skin?
Yes. While the melanin in dark skin is exponentially more sensitive to the heat used in laser treatment, Soprano ICE’s SHR method has been clinically proven to be the safe for dark skin types. Rather than exposing the hair follicle to a single high energy pulse which can cause trauma to skin with a high melanin count, SHR gradually heats the skin until the required heat energy is delivered to the hair follicle. This makes SHR the safest laser hair removal option, including for dark skinned patients.
